# What does ‘Cellular Plans from This Carrier Cannot Be Added’ mean?

The following error may appear for iPhone users if you are trying to install an eSIM on a network-locked device:

You can check if you device is indeed locked, you can check by:

* Going to “**Settings**” > Tap “**General**” then “**About**”
* Under “**Carrier Lock”** check if you see a messaging saying ‘No SIM restrictions’
