# When can I re-use/re-install an eSIM?

Skratch eSIMs can technically be re-installed on the same device up to 10 times. Note that once activated, an eSIM will become tied to the device’s hardware and can’t be installed or re-installed on another device. 

In general we don’t recommend deleting an eSIM until you are completely finished using it. If you want to temporarily disable your eSIM, follow our steps [here](https://skratch.crisp.help/en/article/can-i-pause-my-esim-once-its-activated-1i10qjs/) to pause your data usage.
